Short answer

Before release, test installs and updates, sign-in, core journeys, permissions, interruptions (calls, notifications), poor networks, orientation, battery and memory, accessibility and store requirements across a spread of real Android and iOS devices and OS versions. Frequently asked questions

How many devices should I test?

A representative spread: three to five Android and two to three iPhones usually cover most risk for a small app.

Can emulators replace real devices?

They are useful for early checks, but real devices catch performance, sensors and manufacturer quirks.

Do you test on real devices?

Yes, across Android and iOS as scoped.
