The two different things people compare
AI builders sell you a tool and a monthly plan: you prompt, drag and publish. A done-for-you service sells you a result: a finished, SEO-ready site built by people, deployed, and handed over. They suit different buyers, so the question is how much of the work you want to own.
What the builders cost (public pricing, checked Oct 2026)
Third-party reviews put GoDaddy’s Airo/website plans at roughly $10–$50 per month on annual billing, with introductory prices that rise at renewal (for example a plan listed at about $10/month introductory and about $17/month regular). Replit’s Core plan is listed at $20–$25 per month, with usage credits that also cover deployments, and real production deployments can add further monthly resource costs. Prices change often, so check each provider’s current page.
| AI website builder | AWI Digital done-for-you | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Monthly or annual subscription, renewals may rise | Simple 4-page site: $50/year. Strong SEO-ready site: $250 once (first-year hosting + SSL included) + $50/year from year two. Domain not included |
| Who does the work | You prompt, edit and test | We plan, build, test and deploy |
| SEO control | Limited to what the platform exposes | Full: structure, schema, metadata, speed, sitemap, llms.txt |
| Ownership | Usually locked to the platform | You own code and content |
| Speed | Minutes to a draft, days to polish | As little as 1 day to live |
| Best for | DIY, tests, very simple pages | Businesses that want it done right and found on Google and AI search |
A three-year thought experiment
Subscription cost accumulates: even a $15/month plan is $540 over three years, and add-ons (domain privacy, email, e-commerce, more storage) increase it. A $250 build (first-year hosting and SSL included) plus $50 per year after that is about $350 over three years, and a simple 4-page site at $50 per year is $150. Both add professional setup that DIY tools rarely handle well. The honest answer for any single business depends on renewal terms, so ask both sides for a written three-year cost.
When an AI builder is the better choice
- You enjoy tinkering and have time.
- It is a short-term campaign page.
- You need heavy ecommerce features that a platform already provides.
- Your site is a prototype you will replace.

Frequently asked questions
Is a $250 website really cheaper than GoDaddy or Replit?
Over several years it usually is: a $250 build plus $50 per year for hosting and SSL is about $400 over three years (a simple 4-page site at $50 per year is $150), while builders bill monthly subscriptions that may rise at renewal. Compare three-year totals in writing, and remember the domain is extra on both sides.
Do you build on WordPress, Wix or custom code?
We build fast, clean custom sites you own. We can also work with WordPress when your team needs it.
What is not included in $250?
The domain name, and the $50 yearly hosting and SSL after the build. Larger sites, e-commerce and custom apps are scoped separately.
